Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a seasoned professional for the position of Director, Human Resources. Reporting to the Area Vice President, Asia Pacific, this prized opportunity will be based in our Asia Pacific (AP) Area Office located in Bangkok, Thailand and will be responsible for the implementation of HFHI’s human resources plan and strategy in AP. This position will develop, implement and manage human resources systems, policies and procedures which support the work of the organization at Area, Regional, National and Local levels and which build human resource capacity in the Asia Pacific Area.
Responsibilities include:
- Acting as primary manager of all human resources activities for HFHI Local Hires and Global Assignees in Asia Pacific. - Ensuring that within the parameters of cross-cultural and national limitations, all employment practices, compensation, employee benefits and human resources programs are within the limits of established standards, procedures, guidelines and policies of HFHI. - Managing the recruitment, selection and hiring of new HFHI Local Hires and Global Assignees. - Ensuring that the Asia/Pacific Area is operating within the statutory requirements of the labor laws. - Working actively with managers and employees to resolve Employee Relations issues. - Working with Area Vice-President and Area Management Team in overall leadership of the AP work. - Ensuring that job descriptions are developed for new positions and reviewed/revised for ongoing positions as required. - Ensuring that a job planning and performance management system is established and implemented for both HFHI Local Hires and Global Assignees in the AP Area. - Managing HR Staff, providing coaching and training as necessary in all aspects of the HR function, including salary and benefits administration, recruitment and hiring processes, employee relations, etc.

Required Skills:
|
- 8+ years experience in HR management in a large non-profit or corporate environment, preferably in Thailand - Bachelor's degree in a related field of study, with a Masters degree strongly preferred - Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English, as well as, fluency preferably in the Thai language or another language native to the Asia Pacific region of the World - Extensive working knowledge of the country of Thailand's employment laws, as well as, a general knowledge of the employment laws of the Asia Pacific region - Demonstrated understanding of HR technical areas, such as compensation and benefits, employment, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and staff development. - Experience working in an international organization, preferably in an NGO.
- Computer literate; able to use word-processing, spreadsheet and database software.
