Grants Management Coordinator (Africa/Middle East)

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a grants professional to fill the role of Grant Management Coordinator in our Africa/Middle East office. This position plays a key role in providing training and capacity building initiatives aimed at strengthening National Organizations in the areas of grant management and donor compliance.  The location of the position is Pretoria, South Africa and will involve up to 50% travel throughout Africa/Middle East.
 
Responsibilities include:


• Reviewing the National Organization systems and structures, and developing an action plan, to ensure that systems are in place that will enable full compliance of donor regulations when the grant is awarded.
• Providing technical assistance to ensure that the National Organization follows up on all action plan items.
• Developing training and resource material to ensure grant accountability and compliance by all National Organization staff.
• Assisting the Grants Unit Manager, in coordinating Area Office and National Organization stakeholders involved in grants management to ensure they understand and follow the process.
• Coordinating financial implementation and compliance.
• Reviewing and providing feedback to Resource Development & National Organization staff on the narrative and financial donor reports prior to submission ensuring these are timely, accurate and reliable.
• Coordinating the donor’s post closing audit

 
Required Skills: 
• 5+ years experience in grants/contracts administration, 3 years in supervisory capacity
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
• Knowledge of donor requirements (especially USAID/PEPFAR, Irish Aid, DFID, CIDA, EU, etc.)
• Ability to understand financial reports and analyze financial variances
• Ability to coordinate both financial and programmatic functions of grant management
• Strong writing and communication skills (clear, concise and compelling)
• Ability to travel within the Africa/Middle East region
• Fluency in English required; additional language skills in French, Arabic and/or Portuguese preferred
• International experience managing multi-cultural partners and stakeholders
