Capacity Building and IEC Training Specialist - Haiti

Reporting to the Director, Program Support Services - Haiti, the Capacity Building and IEC Training Specialist provides a broad range of organizational learning, and capacity-building services in alignment to the program strategy. Areas of concentration include: the design and implementation of learning initiatives in Haiti with staff, partners and beneficiaries; internal training program, curriculum design; and the design / facilitation of community engagement programs.

This specialist manages multiple learning projects, designed to improve the performance of individuals and teams within Habitat for Humanity’s Haiti team, its partners and beneficiaries.  This position is based at our office in Port Au Prince, Haiti.

Responsibilities include:

*Develop, coordinate and evaluate IEC training materials and programs in collaboration with technical experts and project partners
* Facilitate and promote capacity building among project partners
* Contribute lessons learned and material for public information from the project
*Development and delivery of integrated curriculum, knowledge sharing and training projects
*Design and facilitation of small and large group interventions
*Consulting and coaching with clients and Habitat Resource Centres on learning and development initiatives
*Design and delivery of learning programs 
*Deliver training and prepare other trainers to deliver content in virtual and non-virtual environments, including a ‘virtual Habitat Resource Centre’
* Develop and maintain a training participant database, leveraging the content to support the program strategy / increase opportunities for the participants (further education, employment opportunities, etc)
* Work with partners (corporations, relevant Government Ministries) to have training programs accredited and recognized
* Liaise with external stakeholders / partners to leverage learning opportunities from academics, private sector, and related professional industries
* Ensure that all capacity building, learning modules, IEC activities are aligned with the global strategy and feed into systems for cross border learning within the network of HFH (and broader)

 

 
Required Skills: 

*Relevant Bachelor’s Degree, with a technical construction degree a plus
*3-5 years of related experience
*English fluency; French and/or Creole fluency a strong preference     
*Previous international NGO experience
*Previous disaster response experience               
*Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate learning programs that have measureable impact
*Demonstrated ability to organize, plan and coordinate face-to-face and virtual learning events
*Demonstrated knowledge of capacity building techniques.
*Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple resources on project teams
*First rate facilitation and presentation skills
*Strong influence and relationship management skills
*Excellent communication skills
