Accountant - Haiti (Leogane)

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. Reporting to the Finance Manager - Haiti, the Accountant position is a key player in HFHI's Finance team in Haiti. This position will be involved with maintaining Haiti accounting and finance reports accurately and in compliance with the policies of HFHI and local regulations. This position is located at our offices in Leogane, Haiti.


Primary responsibilities will include:
*Transaction recording
*Mortgages reconciliation
*Builder Training Center (BTC) reporting
*Accounting documentation filing (pending requests, check book, contracts files and so on...)
*Monthly and quarterly closing
*Revaluation process
*Helping in fixed assets inventory
*Payroll calculation
*Bank register updating

 
Required Skills: 

*At least 3 years professional accounting experienc; some accounting experience with an NGO strongly preferred.
*Fluency in Creole and French; Fluency in English preferred

*Computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) and Sun Systems Accounting, accounting/book keeping training.

*Good attention to detail

*Knowledge of fund accounting

*Experience assisting with providing complex reports to decision-makers

*Ability to track fund expenditures and expenses for particular donors and partners
