Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a dedicated professional for the position of Civil Engineer - Haiti. Reporting to the Director, Program Support Services - Haiti, the Civil Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert and provide a wide range of technical support to HFHI’s reconstruction efforts. This position is based at our office in Port Au Prince, Haiti.
Key Responsibilities: * Develop project objectives, concept designs, drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, budgets, timelines, contract forms and tender documents for building and civil engineering projects. * Conduct site inspections, approved works to proceed and prepare site inspection reports. * Develop quality management procedures for design, tendering, contract management and construction supervision. * Work closely with the Architectural/CAD Designer, Structural Engineer and Urban Planner to ensure project goals are integrated holistically. * Conduct feasibility studies as needed for a variety of construction-related projects. * Make recommendations around safety protocols and procedures for HFHI’s construction operations; Participate in the formal documentation of these into the formation of a new policy. * Other duties as needed by the Director, Program Support Services.
